Understanding How Our Giving Circle Works
100+ Women Who Care Space Coast operates on a simple, yet powerful principle: collective giving. By pooling our resources (giving together), we can make a significant difference in our community. Each member contributes $100 quarterly, and together, we decide which local non-profits to support, ensuring that our donations reach our neighbors, friends and family locally. We do not support organizations not based in Brevard County.
During our quarterly meetings, members gather to hear about local nonprofits and vote on one that will receive funding. This collaborative approach not only empowers our members, but it also strengthens our community by addressing critical issues faced by local organizations that often struggle for funding.
The process is straightforward: members nominate non-profits, and after a 5-minute presentation with a 5-minute-Q&A, we vote by secret ballot and the organization that receives the most votes is awarded the donation. That’s It. Members write a check directly to the organization and 100 Women Who Care Space Coast facilitates awarding and delivering checks to the organization. This method ensures that every voice is heard, and the chosen non-profit reflects the collective values and priorities of our group. Only members in good standing are allowed to vote.
By participating in 100+ Women Who Care Space Coast, members not only contribute financially but also build connections with the community, learn about the awesome work being done at grass-root level, and build relationships with like-minded women you might not otherwise get to know. Together, we create a network of support that amplifies our impact, fosters community engagement, and promotes empowerment in Brevard County.
What is 100 Women Who Care?
100 Women Who Care Space Coast is a Giving Circle where we unite to make a difference in our community. We do not exist as an entity, instead, we gather to pool our resources and contributions to make impactful change through collective giving.
How does the giving circle model work?
The collective giving model allows members to pool their financial contributions, which are then donated to selected local non-profits. This approach amplifies the impact of individual donations, enabling the group to raise significant funds quickly during quarterly meetings.
What causes do 100+ WWC Space Coast support?
We support a variety of local non-profits that address critical issues in our community, including youth, seniors, education, economic relief, environmental protection, and STEAM. Our focus is on organizations that demonstrate a clear need for funding with proven track records.
How does my organization get nominated?
A member in good standing must sponsor you as a nominee. The member should know your organization well enough to present in the event you are not able to do so if you are selected. You must also complete a Charity Nomination Form to be entered into the random selection process. If your organization is selected you will be notified of the meeting date you will present.
How can I become a member?
It’s very simple. To become a member, interested women can attend one of our quarterly meetings or click here to join. Membership is open to women 18 years of age or older, who are passionate about philanthropy and want to contribute to meaningful community initiatives. That’s it. You are always welcome to come to one of quarterly meetings to see the power of our collective.
What is the meeting format like?
Our meetings are structured to be short, efficient and to the point. Meetings typically lasting about an hour where members gather to hear presentations from selected non-profits, followed by a voting process to determine where the pooled funds will be allocated, often raising $10,000 in just one hour. After the selected charity is announced, we go home.
Can I attend a meeting without being a member?
Yes. Prospective members are welcome to attend a meeting to learn more about our mission and the impact of our collective giving. This is a great opportunity to see how we operate and meet other like-minded women in the community.
What to do if my charity is not awarded?
If your charity is not selected when you present, you can reapply for an upcoming quarterly meeting. Keep in mind, charities selected for presentation are picked at random.
